Doctor Who: Timekeeper
I would love to write Doctor Who for a few years. Just saying.
I hope you enjoy this sample, the full 5000 word story is up on ao3.
The Doctor has been retired. It’s been a long eternity of saving worlds and resetting universes. Finally, it’s the Doctor’s turn to just sit back, relax, and watch the ends of the worlds.
Lira, officially Lambda-3, trudged hot and sweaty through underbrush, and like the rest of Green Team was far too somber for a zookeeper after a successful expedition. She was proud to say she led the best team of keepers on the preserve. On this trip to the Jungle Island of Vbaath, they had successfully captured representatives of every species within the preserve’s catalogs and preparations for relocation were well underway. Where they were relocating to was the open question.

Imperial Heart

Mal, exile, wanderer sage, godkiller, was being strapped inside a canvas body bag in the back of a stolen ambulance, his life pouring from his lips while he held the last words of a dead man in his hands.
Five years ago, Malcon the Warrior was betrayed, blamed for the God Emperor’s death, and forced to flee into exile beyond the Empire’s great crystalline Wall and the protection it offers from the yearly Turnings which wreck the world outside. Now, with the help of unexpected allies from beyond the Wall, Mal has returned to put an end to the heinous scheme that seeks to sieze power from the God Emperors and corrupt the very purpose of the Empire.
To Chase Light

“I cried the first time I saw it too,” Mal said. “Though, I was standing on the other side. Where I am from, the Empire, we shut all this away, guard against it. I thought then that was our great sin, but now, after today? We are wrong about so many things. I was nearly twenty the first time I ventured out beyond the Wall, beyond the planned order of everything, and even then my eyes were only half open to what there was to see out here.”

About This Story
It’s a new Doctor, a new River, and no spoilers.
This 2017-era Doctor Who fanfiction is set post-canon of the main Doctor Who TV show. At the time, I had sort of envisioned this as how I might pilot a season of the show with River Song as a companion, and exploring the kind of stories that could be told with a regenerating Time Lord companion who is NOT rooted in 21st century Earth.
Sunset Kingdom: Spring of Black Flowers
Available free on RoyalRoad and Wattpad

To the west, at the edges of the known world, lies Erazel, the Sunset Kingdom. A lone beacon of civilization in the wild barbarian lands of a once great empire, though many fear the kingdom’s time has come. The royal line of Chalent has extinguished itself in a blood feud with one of their former vassals turned royal rivals, House Aldrimar, who themselves are on the verge of falling apart.
